Description
The Access shovel is the essential tool for any outing beyond the marked pistes, alongside the avalanche transceiver and probe. Its 2 mm reinforced aluminium blade, measuring 23 by 24 cm, cuts efficiently into the dense snow of avalanche debris. The PIN LOCK system assembles blade and shaft in an instant, and the T-grip, with its ergonomic base, offers a good hold even with gloves on. At 63 cm assembled and 490 g on the scales, it slips into the safety pocket of your backpack without weighing it down. Blade and shaft are made from recycled aluminium, 90% for the blade and 34% for the shaft.
Neva’s advice
An avalanche transceiver, a shovel and a probe are only useful if you know how to use them: ask our instructors for advice before any outing beyond the marked pistes.
